The
POM material, commonly called acetal (chemically known as Polyoxymethylene)has
a copolymer named POM-C Polyacetal plastic. It has a continuous working
temperature that varies from -40 ° C to +100 ° C.
There is no tendency to stress cracking based on the
toughness of POM-C polyacetal rods, combined with high dimensional stability. The
POM-C Polyacetal copolymer has high thermal stability and resistance
to chemical agents.
In particular, when planning the use of POM-C it must
be considered as well the increased hydrolytic stability and contact
resistance of many solvents.
This POM-C material is widely used in food industry
applications, as cleaning methods require resistance to the use of hot water or
various chemical agents. The natural or black round POM-C rods and sheets
comply with the food regulations as laid out in 10/2011 / EC.
Main characteristics:
POM-C rods have Mechanical strength and hardness
Excellent elasticity and durability (elastic memory)
POM-C polyacetal rods have High impact strength, even at low
temperatures
Very good dimensional stability during processing
Good sliding properties and wear resistance
Excellent workability
The rods of POM-C have Good electrical properties,
good dielectric
These POM rods are made of self-lubricating material
Minimal absorption of water (from 0.2% to 0.8%)
Physiologically inert (suitable for the food industry)
POM-C rods have Low water absorption (from 0.2% to 0.8%
Good resistance to UV rays *
Applications:
engineering, transport and conveyor technology,
packaging machines and paper handling, precision mechanical components, food
industry, automotive industry, electrical engineering, household appliances,
medical equipment
POM-C rods are appropriate for:
POM-C spring components, bushings, gears, cam disc
(eccentric), cam discs and ratchet mechanisms, sliding components, electrical
insulators, valves, major precision components, various components and details
that work long under water at t ° 60-80 ° C .
